this movie takes place in russia ,the towns people are all jewish the main character tevia ,famer with 5 daughters who helps him on the farm. The whole thing with the fiddler on the roof as to deal with tradition. the whole movie is based on tradition. In the towns they got their match makers, the begger ,and most important their rabi. they believe without tradition their lives would be as shaky as fiddler on the roof. an old lady is finding a husband for the girls of the house hold. the butcher of the town has his eye on sidel. for the girls you never know what the match maker is going to bring for you. He could be tall ,handsome, rich, or he could be fat, ugly, really old, and a wife beater. the dad shakes the butcher hand ,agreein that he can marry his daughter ,but when he goes back to tell his family. no one is happy except the mother. Sidel begs for papa not to make her marry the butcher. Then the tailor asks papa for sidel hand in marriage. papa thinks about it for awhile ,and finally agrees to the marriage.
This movie really has to deal with tradition. Is tradition good ,bad ,or will tradition always stay the same.
The famer fakes havin a bad dream ,so he can tell his wife about the bad dream. He makes the bad dream simble that her grandmother does not want sidle to marry the butcher ,but instead the tailor. They end up preparing ,and havin a marriage for sidle and the tailor. The marriage has people all around them holding candles. The tailor puts the ring on her first fingure. Then he breaks the glass and everyone starts dancing. The butcher gives the newly wed 5 chickens ,then complains that it should had been his wedding ,that the farmer gave his agreement to the butcher that he could marry his daughter. The boy who had been teachin the daughters of the farmer. He ask a woman to dance ,and thats not traditional. After awhile everyone starts to join in. In the middle of the dance ,non jews of then start to break up the wedding. Crashing and breaking everything. The captain tells the farmer ,since they are good friends. That thats their orders ,to crash and break things. They break into homes .stores ,and setting buildings and carts on fire. The boy who the farmer took in ,that teaches his daughter about the bible. Has asked the second farmers daughter to marry him. The farmer tells them no ,but they say their not askin for his permission just his blessing. Its seems that tradition is starting to fade away. It seems that their is a new match maker "love". Then the farmer wonders if his wife loves him. The first time they met was on thier wedding night. The boy who marries the farmer second wife goes to preach the word of freedom. The third oldest daughter is in love with a chatholic boy. Her farther tells her she can be his friend from a distance but thats it. She loves this boy so they get married and run away together behind the familys back. She comes back and tries to talk to her farther.

Do you think its right for non-english speaking students to come over to america and get special treatment ,and special classes becuase they do not know english? If you was to move to mexico ,and go to school you would not get any special treatment. In america they have a program called bilingual education. It is the practice of teaching non-english speaking students core subjects in their native tounge. Im against this ,because it is shown bilingual education does not work. Aslo becuase it is a form of segergation ,and its not preparing them for their future in america.
Bilingual education is some what a form a segergation. Your takin the hispanic students out of class and puttin them in a class that is full of all hispanic kids. I do not believe that it is right for hispanic students to get their own class. American students have to take a spanish class eith everyone else ,so why is it right for them to get a class of their own. If they do not understand what is being taught then they should be held back ,but they shouldnt get a class that teaches in their native tounge diffentely when its takin them out of another class ,and away from all the other students.
Also bilingual education is not preparing hispanic students for their future in america. What happens when they graduate? Their use to everything being taught in their native tounge ,and they have no interacting skills of the english launage. Would if their going to be train to work at some job ,do you think the company is going to go out of their way to teach hispanic how to do the job in their own tounge. There are many jobs that look at if you can speak spanish ,but they also make sure you can speak english.
After 30 years of experience and the expenditure of tens of billions of dollars ,research shows that bilingual education does not teach students the english language and literacy they need for school success. Bilingual education may sound good ,and may look good in the point of view in some people eyes ,but it has proven to be ineffective.
Bilingual education often results in social isolation ,and high drop-out rates. It is proven to be ineffective ,causes segeration ,and does not prepare hispanic students the material they need for their future in american. All it is doing is simply giving them the material they need to get through school and graduate. So after graduation what are they suppose to do? No one will be there to teach the material in their own tounge or make it easier on them. They will be on their own ,and since they never been taught to learn for themselves or in different laungage ,what are they suppose to do?

Alot of schools are trying to inforce a rule that bans ipod use during school hours. The reason for this action is due to kids supposly using ipods to cheat. Baseball caps and cell phones have already been baned due to kids using these devices to cheat. So now their sayin that kids are using ipods to cheat. Their hopping that banning ipod use during school hours will reduce the number of students that are cheating.

I do not agree with schools banning ipod use during school hours. Kids can think of all kinds of new and creative ways to cheat. So if you ban ipods ,the kids that are cheating will think of a new way to get the answers. So really all this rule is effecting is the students that use ipods during class to block out all the destractions that are going on around them. Students can use ipods as a tool of relaxtion ,or to help focus on a reading assigment ,or even to help them focus on a homework assignment. So why punish the kids who are using ipods for good reasons ,for the mistakes of the students who are making wrong decesions to use ipods for cheating. When all thats going to happen is the students using ipods to cheat ,their going to find other ways to cheat. So i honestly believe that it will not reduce the number of students cheating. Imagain your the last man on earth. The last surviving human bein. Well in the book "I am Legend" by Richard Matheson thats the case for one unlucky man by the name of Robert Neville. Robert Neville, the apparent last survivor of a plague that has turned his friends and neighbors into ravenous, blood-drinking ghouls, sits alone in his fortified suburban home, going mad. He's the last man, fighting a world overrun by vampires, but does that make him a hero or a monster? This is the question that floats through readers minds as they read this increbile book.This book dates towards the near future. My personl opinion of the book is that you have to be stupid not to like it. Its a great read ,and its a book that you never want to put down. If you want an exciting, intertaing, attention getter book , than this is the book for you. This read is a must, if you enjoy a story that is filled with mysteory with a little bit of action mixed in with it.

Bleachers

"Bam" the legendary Eddie Rake is dead. To some Eddie Rake is a god or super hero. As you read Bleachers by John Grisham you find out its about high school football in the town of Messina and their legendary coach Eddie Rake. The town of messina worshiped football. With the record of 13 state titles and over 400 games including an 87 game winning streak that lasted 6 years. Football was more than just another sport to play or go watch for the town of messina it was their way of life. If you wasnt on the team playin than you was in a boster club that helped out the team an raised money for the football program. the setting of the book takes place at the stadium of messina. All of Eddie Rake football players come back to pay their respects to their once former coach, and what better way to remember him by than staring at the field and remembering every paractice every game they spent with him on that field. I conclude that this is a very good book to read. It teaches alot of life lessons, and if your thinking oh i dont want to read it cause its just about football. Than you should probaly go jump off a bridge cause who doesnt like to read about football ,and also this book is so much more than a football game or life of a football player. Its about life and remembering all the good times you shared with your fellow students. So i say if your bored and have nothin better to do. Go get the book ''Bleachers'' ,and start reading, and i promise you wont regret it.

salem witch trials

In my journey of the Salem Witch Trials I learned that sometimes it is better to confess that you are a witch instead of telling the truth that your are indeed not one. If you were to say you are not a witch you would have to go to trial. With this knowledge I told the court that I was indeed a witch. After I had confessed I was still in prison when the governor granted an amnesty, so I borrowed my jail fees from my family, and went home. When I returned home I walked in my garden, it was not like a regular garden it was dry, dead, and decaying. It looked like the devils realm.
